Small Business - Partner Mediation

Leisa distinguishes herself from many mediators with her business-focused approach, backed by her experience as a Queensland Sales Manager with Multi-Million Dollar accounts like Flight Centre and Chemist Warehouse and as a former retail business owner herself with 300  small business owners in her Marketplace. She recognises the challenges that can arise from differing opinions, especially in family partnerships like her husband's Property Development Business with his brother.

Evaluate Your Current Successes and consider whether your business partner played a significant role in reaching these milestones? Let Leisa assist you in navigating the frustrations that have led you to this time and place. She can help you to reset and realign on the shared goals that unite your business.

Why You Can Trust Leisa

Leisa has undergone various personal psychometric assessments while serving in roles that demanded teamwork and leadership in high-pressure environments. These assessments have highlighted her possession of essential attributes, including Sales Aptitude, Emotional Intelligence, Communication Skills, Motivation and Drive, Problem-Solving Skills, Resilience, Team Leadership, Customer Orientation, Strategic Thinking, and Cultural Fit.

Moreover, Leisa is committed to upholding the highest level of confidentiality. She creates a safe and welcoming atmosphere where you can feel at ease sharing sensitive information, ensuring that your trust is well-placed.

Conflict Resolution: Leisa's Unplanned Yet Successful First Client

During her tenure at Alphapharm Pharmaceuticals, Leisa successfully assisted business partners in resolving a very heated dispute. One partner emphasised loyalty and was resistant to change, while the other prioritised cost savings and profit margins. The atmosphere was tense, and even the staff could sense it. In a bold move, Leisa facilitated open communication to address the underlying fears. This led to a breakthrough, as ALL of the partners’ frustrations came to light. Leisa guided them, helping them reconnect with their original business objectives and achieve a mutually beneficial resolution.

Mediation Isn't a Sign of Failure

Choosing mediation showcases strength, not weakness.

A common misconception is that seeking business partner mediation signals failure or weakness. Many partners worry it indicates irreparable damage or an inability to resolve issues independently. Leisa believes that it demonstrates a commitment to preserving the partnership and finding constructive solutions before problems escalate.

A Turning Point: Rebuilding Trust by getting it all out onto the table.

If your business partnership is struggling, remember that mediation offers a safe, structured environment for open dialogue and understanding. It's more than just dispute resolution; it’s a chance to rebuild trust, clarify misunderstandings, and explore collaborative solutions. This is a turning point as nothing changes, if nothing changes. Leisa can help you find that turning point.

Our 4-Step Approach to Starting Mediation

Discovery

Partners will be asked to complete a form which will prompt them of the issues which they wish to discuss . This is where you brainstorm and get everything important on the table.

Phone call

Leisa will then make an appointment to call you to go over these points in a little more detail so that she can gauge both the issues and your personal way of discussing them.

Mediation Day

Leisa will host an external suite where she will outline the points to be discussed. You will work through these one by one. There is no single WINNER, only a way forward that keeps your goals on track.

Follow Up

Leisa will email you through notes from the day and outline what was agreed upon upon. She will then list the individual steps you discussed together to make that happen.

When do you need a Lawyer instead of a Mediator?

While mediation is generally a less formal and more collaborative process than litigation, it's essential to weigh the complexity of your situation and the potential benefits of legal representation when deciding whether to involve a Lawyer instead of a Mediator.

1.Potential for Litigation: If there is a likelihood that the dispute could escalate to litigation if mediation fails, having a lawyer involved from the beginning can better prepare you for that possibility.

2.Contractual Obligations: If the dispute arises from contractual issues, a lawyer can help interpret the contract terms and advise you on your legal standing.

3.Rights and Responsibilities: If you're unsure about your legal rights or obligations, a lawyer can provide clarity and guidance tailored to your situation.

If this resonates with you, I wish you the best, but unfortunately, I am unable to assist you today.
