Conflict Resolution Success Story

During her time at Alphapharm Pharmaceuticals, Leisa played a pivotal role in helping two business partners navigate a particularly heated dispute. One pharmacy partner valued loyalty and was resistant to change, while the other focused on cost savings and profit margins. The tension in the room was palpable, affecting not only the partners but also their staff.

In a decisive move, Leisa facilitated open communication to address the underlying fears and concerns driving the conflict. This courageous approach led to a breakthrough moment, allowing all partners to express their frustrations openly.

Leisa skillfully guided them back to their original business objectives, fostering a collaborative environment that enabled them to reach a mutually beneficial resolution. Her ability to reconnect the partners with their shared goals exemplifies her commitment to effective conflict resolution and business success.

Choosing Mediation: A Sign of Strength, Not Weakness

A common misconception is that seeking business partner mediation signifies failure or weakness. Many partners fear that it indicates irreparable damage or an inability to resolve issues on their own. However, Leisa believes that opting for mediation is a powerful demonstration of commitment to preserving the partnership.

Choosing mediation reflects a proactive approach to addressing conflicts and finding constructive solutions before problems escalate. It shows a willingness to invest in the relationship and work collaboratively towards a healthier, more productive partnership. By engaging in mediation, partners take a significant step toward fostering understanding and achieving long-term success together.

A Turning Point: Rebuilding Trust by getting it all out onto the table.

If your business partnership is struggling, remember that mediation offers a safe, structured environment for open dialogue and understanding. It's more than just dispute resolution; it’s a chance to rebuild trust, clarify misunderstandings, and explore collaborative solutions. This is a turning point as nothing changes, if nothing changes. Leisa can help you find that turning point.

Our 4-Step Approach to Starting Mediation

Discovery

Partners will be asked to complete a form which will prompt them of the issues which they wish to discuss . This is where you brainstorm and get everything on the table. If you are feeling resentful then air it now.

Phone call

Leisa will then make an appointment to call you to go over these points in a little more detail. This will allow her to gauge both the issues and your personal way of discussing them. (ie are you open minded or locked in)

Mediation Day

Leisa will host an external suite where she will outline the points to be discussed. You will work through these one by one. There is no single WINNER, only a way forward that keeps your goals on track.

Follow Up

Leisa will email you through notes from the day and outline what was agreed upon upon. She will then list the individual steps you discussed together to make that happen.

When do you need a Lawyer instead of a Mediator?

While mediation is generally a less formal and more collaborative process than litigation, it's essential to weigh the complexity of your situation and the potential benefits of legal representation when deciding whether to involve a Lawyer instead of a Mediator.

1.Potential for Litigation: If there is a likelihood that the dispute could escalate to litigation if mediation fails, having a lawyer involved from the beginning can better prepare you for that possibility.

2.Contractual Obligations: If the dispute arises from contractual issues, a lawyer can help interpret the contract terms and advise you on your legal standing.

3.Rights and Responsibilities: If you're unsure about your legal rights or obligations, a lawyer can provide clarity and guidance tailored to your situation.

If this resonates with you, I wish you the best, but unfortunately, I am unable to assist you today.
